Keep Trail Open

The Kasson-Mantorville School District, City of Kasson and City of Mantorville have a joint ventures agreement. Annually a set amount of money is put into a pot by each of the three and items are purchased that all three can share. Makes a lot of sense and saves money.
Walking the snow covered trail the other day, I was wondering if there could not be a joint venture to keep the Sunrise and Sunset Trails open during the winter months. Those trails get used a great deal for three seasons and then when the longest season arrives, they are unusable for most of the winter. Walkers, bikers and joggers must find an alternative source of exercise.
I do see people walking along the road on County #15, but that is not the safest, especially during a winter like this one when there has been so much ice.
Of course plowing city streets are a priority following a snowfall. I'm wondering...TO READ FULL EDITORIAL PURCHASE A COPY OF THE DCI TODAY!
