Conditional use permit approved for new library
The Kasson City Council approved a resolution for a conditional use permit to construct what was referred to as a community building/library on property owned by the city at 8th Avenue N.W. and 2nd Street S.W. The property is in West Park and west of the First Presbyterian Church.

John Talcott, a former library board member, called the resolution approving the recommended site a "momentous decision". "It will be exciting to have a library in a state of the art building," said Talcott. He suggested that down the road many other communities might consider this same design.
