Dodge County Sheriff’s Office Motor Vehicle Crash
On Thursday afternoon, November 28, 2013, at approximately 3:45 PM, the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office received a request of a welfare check on a 27 year old male who lives in the city of Dodge Center. Dodge County deputies started looking for the person and surrounding counties were also notified. The person’s vehicle, a black Dodge Challenger, was spotted in Steele County, Freeborn County and Mower County, then back in Dodge County.
At about 6:35 PM, Dodge County deputies observed a black Dodge Challenger drive past their location, in the area of County Road 4 and County Road 13, heading east bound at a high rate of speed. As deputies turned around to go after the vehicle, the Dodge Challenger left the roadway, hit a field driveway and rolled.
Hayfield Fire and Ambulance responded to the scene along with the Mayo One Flight Crew. The crash was investigated by Dodge County Sheriff’s deputies and the Minnesota State Patrol. The driver of the Challenger was taken to St Mary’s Hospital by the Hayfield Ambulance, was treated and kept overnight. On Friday afternoon, he was transported to the Steele County Jail and will be held for a Court appearance on Monday morning December 2nd.
