Early Years Are Learning Years Dodge County Celebrates the National Week of the Young Child April 14th-20th 2013
The approximately 50 members of the Dodge County Licensed Child Care Association are asking communities in Dodge County to come together for children during the Week of the Young Child April 14th-20th, 2013. As the national Week of the Young Child is celebrated across the country the communities of Dodge County are honoring young children and all those who make a difference in children's lives.
Young children need and deserve high quality early learning experiences that will prepare them for life. The communities of Dodge County have a great opportunity to help young children. These statements are shared by Dodge County childcare providers, community mayors, county commissioners and politicians. Week of the Young Child is a time all the cities in the county can recognize that early years are learning years for young children.
Week of the Young Child (sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children(NAYEC) is an opportunity for early childhood programs across the country including child care and Head Start programs, preschools and elementary schools, to hold activities to bring awareness to the needs of young children.
Young children and their families depend on high quality education and care to help children have a great start and bring lasting benefits to Dodge County. The week is a time to recognize the importance of early learning and literacy and to celebrate the teachers and policies that bring early childhood education to young children.
Proclamation by Commissioners John Allen, Rodney Peterson, Dave Erickson, Steven Gray, Lyle Tjosaas, Mayors Don Gray, Bill Ketchum, Jeff McCool, Greg Demmer, Tim Tjosaas, Chuck Bradford, Representatives Duane Quam, Steve Draskowski, Patti Fritz, Shannon Savick, Jeanne Poppe, Senators Dave Senjem, Matt Schmit, Dan Sparks, Sheriff Jim Jensen and the Dodge County Licensed Child Care Providers:
Week of the Young Child
Whereas, the Dodge County Licensed Child Care Association along with other local organizations, in conjunction with the National Association for the Education of Young Children, are celebrating the week of the Young Child, April 14-20th , 2013; and
Whereas, these organizations are working to improve early learning opportunities, including early literacy programs, that can provide a foundation of learning for children in the communities of Dodge County, MN and
Whereas, teachers and others who make a difference in the lives of young children in the communities of Dodge County, MN deserve thanks and recognition; and
Whereas, public policies that support early learning for all young children are crucial to the young children's futures;
We, the child care providers, mayors, commissioners, house representatives, senators and sheriff of the communities of Dodge County, (Claremont, Dodge Center, Hayfield, Kasson, Mantorville and West Concord), and state of Minnesota do hereby proclaim April 14th-20th, 2013 as the Week of the Young Child in the communities of Dodge County and encourage all citizens to work to make a good investment in early childhood in Dodge County, MN.
