Paul H. "Wally" Fjerstad, 56, of Kasson, died Monday August 9th, 2010 in Brownsdale, MN while operating a motor vehicle.

 Paul H. Fjerstad was born on July 23, 1954 in Rochester, MN to Alice (Fjerstad) Ramthum and Thomas Hanf. He attended school in Byron, MN and Mishawaka High School in Mishawaka, IN graduating in 1972. He returned to the Byron area after high school and made his home in Kasson. He married Pamela Durst and they were later divorced.

Paul was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Kasson. He was a member of the Kasson Fire Department for the past 20 years. He was employed by S. L. Contracting and Rochester Service Company for the last 20+ years. He had also worked for Road Constructors, Crenlo and Ellingson Drainage over the years. Paul enjoyed spending time with his three children and his granddaughter. He especially enjoyed watching his children play in various sporting activities and hunting with his sons.

Paul is survived by his three children, Alicia, Anthony "Tony", and Adam, and a granddaughter, all of Kasson and a half brother, Steven Mosher of Anoka, MN, along with many aunts, uncles and cousins and long time friend, Teri Witt of Hayfield.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents and a half brother.

A funeral service was held August 13 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Kasson with Pastor Marie A. K. Anderson officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery in Mantorville.
