MORE MONEY NEEDED FOR NEW SCHOOL
Election, Saturday, March 19, 1:30 till 5 o'clock.
On Saturday afternoon of next week the voters of this district will vote on the proposition of selling additional bonds to the amount of $18,000 for the purpose of constructing the new grade building as planned. It was thought when the bonds for $41,000 were voted last spring that labor and material would have come down sufficiently by this time to enable us to complete the building at that price but such is not the case. Material has come down some but not as much as expected and the outlook for two or three years to come is not very promising. In the meantime we need the new building and the state department insists that we build if we wish to remain on the accredited high school list and to obtain state aid.
The $41,000 plus $18,000 or $59,000, if voted, will be spent as follows: $40,043 to the general contractor, $12,473 for plumbing, heating, and ventilation, $1,440 for electric wiring and the balance for the architect's fees, pump and motor, sewage disposal, electric fixtures, window shades, auditorium seating, library tables, and other necessary equipment.
The voters of this district expressed themselves wholeheartedly in favor of the new building when the $41,000 was voted last spring and we are sure they will do the same now. Let every man and woman in the district, eligible to vote, come out to the high school on Saturday afternoon of next week and express the views on the subject by ballot.
