Kindergarten raises record amount for Paws & Claws

The K-M morning and afternoon kindergarten classes raised a record $428.98 for Paws and Claws in Rochester by bringing their loose change and dollar bills to school over a period of one week.

As a reward for raising that money State Theatre owners Nicole Bjerke and Heidi Alberts show a free movie for the students and staff. The movie this year was "Miracle Dogs".

This was the 15th year Heidi and Nicole have offered to show a movie as a reward for collecting money for Paws & Claws. Ann Indykiewicz of Mantorville, a volunteer at Paws & Claws, was also present along with her English Springer Spaniel rescue dog "Rio."

Ann told the students money donated helps to pay for food and medicine and other supplies needed at the shelter.
