Women in Business
These are the reasons Kathy O’Malley is in real estate. She was looking for a career that took the best of what she had experienced in her position in the medical field and gave her opportunity to help people realize their dreams while also allowing her to give back to the community.
Kathy has been working in the real estate field for two years. As an agent with Counselor Realty she joins 49 other agents in the Rochester office located on 19th Street. She likes that the agents work as a team; another carryover from her days working in the medical field. Agents are not in it just for themselves, but do what is best for all involved.
Kathy has strong ties to the K-M community. Those familiar with Kasson Carpet will remember her parents Ed and Donna Kunz. The family moved to town in 1969 and established a presence on Main Street. Kathy feels strongly that people in a community should support and strengthen the community both from a business and personal standpoint.
Because of this strong conviction Kathy has taken on the challenge of marketing the 1918 Kasson School. “There are people interested. It is a building worth saving with good potential for re-use. I believe in this town and can visualize great benefits for the community if the building were to be reused for senior apartments, shops, community space and possibly a church. The location with close proximity to Kasson’s business district and medical facilities is a definite plus”, Kathy emphasizes.
Kathy believes success is measured by more than dollars and cents. Despite the outcome of the school she knows she needs to act on what she believes. Part of what she likes about the real estate business has to do with the rewards. Helping a widow find a house she can afford, working with someone recently divorced so they can find a place to call home again, or helping a young family find a house to make a home in which to raise their children. Realizing dreams. Accomp-lishing goals. Creating homes. The resulting rewards for Kathy are what motivate her.
Kathy is certified to sell residential, commercial and agricultural properties in the state of Minnesota. Her many ties to the area keep her busy in the southeast corner of the state. She can be contacted at 507-696-8016 or 507-285-9400. Her email is email@example.com.
Kathy is married to Larry and they have three sons, Larry, Josh and Cody. Six lucky children call Kathy ‘Grandma’ and she is sure to plan time with them into her busy schedule.
Rewards. They cannot always be measured in outward ways but do give a reason to get out of bed in the morning and do what gives our lives importance and meaning. Whether it is a real estate deal or contribution to the community, Kathy believes in being true to what she believes and knows the rewards will make it all worthwhile.
