The Morris Leatherman community survey revealed that K-M School District residents believe the quality of education here is very high. In fact 65% of the 400 respondents said the quality of education is excellent and another 26% rated the quality of education as good.

The state's positive budget forecast will benefit school districts statewide, including Kasson-Mantorville. The forecast for December is the state will have a $1.086 billion surplus.

Due to inclement weather on Sunday, January 27th the Free Family Fun Day Speak-out event has been rescheduled for Sunday, February 10th from 3-5:30 p.m.

The clicker, a personal response device, has been in use in the K-M school system for a few years. Now staff, including middle school math teacher Amy Wix, are finding more uses for the clicker that allow students to become more engaged in the classroom and receive immediate feedback on their understanding of new concepts.

No more chalkboards, TV screens, or overhead projectors. A+ of the start of the 2013-14 school year every K-M classroom has the latest technology for implementing lessons. It's called the Smart Board.

At a special school board meeting last Monday the board voted to hire the Morris Leatherman Company of Minneapolis to poll district residents on facility needs.
