Snowshoes for Minnesota winters

Kasson-Mantorville Community Education is excited to offer ‘Snowshoe Basics for All,’ on February 2. Participants will learn snowshoe history, tips for usage, and have the opportunity to strap on a pair and explore the wonder of winter with a moonlight form of exercise.

Kasson-Mantorville leads way to victory over cancer KoMets host Coaches vs. Cancer® event to support American Cancer Society

Kasson-Mantorville is gearing up to fight cancer with a winning team, the American Cancer Society. Join the KoMets to cheer on the team, as they take on cancer during the week of January 24 – February 3rd. The coaches, players, parents, and community members have been hard at work to once again make this event a success for the third year in a row.

First Students of the Month named for 2011-12 year

Each month throughout the school year a senior is selected as the K-M Exchange Club Student of the Month. The selections are for September and October and the first two are Hannah Buchl (September) and Zac Plein (October)

Dancing with the freshman stars!!

Dance is part of the PE curriculum so to highlight the chapter there was a dancing with the freshman stars competition. Each of the eight groups was evaluated by judges.

K-M food shelf drive collects 9,800 pounds

The Kasson-Mantorville Future Community and Career Leaders (FCCLA) and National Honor Society (NHS) coordinated a food drive that collected 8,682 pounds of food and took in another $1,165.64 in cash for a total of 9,847 pounds (each one dollar donation was equivalent to one pound of food).

CA class collects items for Dorothy Day House

The K-M Community Action class is all about taking action. They recently collected items for the Dorothy Day House, a home that provides temporary shelter for the homeless or someone in a personal crisis situation.

School Board Chair Candy Ellingworth called the regular School Board meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. at the Community Ed Multi-Purpose Room.

K-M seventh graders attend STEM Summit

Pursuant to due call and notice, the Board of Education met in a Special CLOSED Board Meeting at the Kasson-Mantorville High School Conference Room on January 20, 2011. Board Chair Guy Paradise called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss personnel issues.
