KoMets get help from K-W, tie for HVL Conference Title

Two weeks ago K-M traveled to Kenyon-Wanamingo and handed the Knights their first conference loss by winning in three straight. In the final regular match of the season K-M was cheering for their HVL rival as they came back from a 2-1 deficit and knocked off the Stewartville Tigers 3-2 to create a three way tie for the conference title.

K-M soccer boys make a great run, fall to Austin 2-0

The K-M boys soccer team had a memorable season for the record books. They won a school record 16 games (16-3) and recorded 13 shutouts. Two of the losses were in two overtimes.

Tough luck loss for K-M soccer girls!

For a second consecutive year the K-M girls suffered a tough loss in the section final, denying them a second appearance in the state tournament. Dover-Eyota will be making their first trip in school history after scoring in sudden death with 1:30 remaining in the first overtime for a 2-1 win.

K-M boys second at invite held at Zumbro Valley Golf Course

There were only four teams and five schools represented, but Northfield alone brought 120 participants for the Kasson-Mantorville Invitational last Tuesday held at the Zumbro Valley Golf Course.

Kirmse kick return, second half comeback reward KoMets 28-14

K-M needed a Drew Kirmse kick return for 85 yards and a touchdown and a pair of second half scores to come back for a 28-14 win.

Offense struggles in 19-6 Homecoming loss

K-M was fortunate to be down by only 13 at the half. Lake City was second and goal inside the five and ran out of clock. They still went into the half up 13-0, extended the lead to 19-0 in the fourth quarter and held on for a 19-6 win to spoil the KoMets’ homecoming.

Soccer girls dominate Lourdes 3-0, win HVL title outright

Sophomore Brennan Gustafson and senior Mark Ostroot placed first and third to lead the KoMets to a first place finish in the 3rd Annual Byron Invitational last Tuesday.
