It turned out to be a championship week for K-M spring athletics last week. The KoMet girls softball team wins a state title and the baseball team knocked off Lourdes to earn the opportunity to defend their state title.

The KoMet boys soccer team has more seniors than the football team. That has probably never happened.

Football team dominated by underclassmen!

Last year the 9-2 KoMets had 23 seniors on the roster. This season there are seven seniors on a team dominated by underclassmen. "We will need to have a quick learning curve," said second year varsity coach Broc Threinen who has coached in the varsity/junior varsity football program 13 years.

Travis Wiuff to fight in Japan August 23

K-M High School paraprofessional and professional mixed martial arts fighter Travis Wiuff hoped to have the opportunity to step inside the ring outside of the United States during his summer vacation . His promoter found that opportunity and Travis will be fighting in Japan August 23.

Youth Basketball Camp

The K-M baseball team and coaching staff know they have a long and difficult road ahead of them to defend their state title. Being able to get out of very competitive section will be difficult with teams like Cannon Falls, Lourdes, Pine Island and La Crescent capable of winning it all.

Soccer players are subject to British influence at camp!

There are 20 K-M soccer players who received a great deal of foreign influence last week at a soccer camp. The camp is run by Challenger Soccer and Thomas Lloyd from England is one of 1,400 British soccer coaches who will be working with 130,000 youth this year.
