Growing K-M track numbers result in "organized chaos"

Track coach Erik Myran refers to practices as "organized chaos". There is good reason for that too. In 2008 K-M had 98 track athletes 7-12. The number dropped slightly in 2009 to 93 and then started a steady climb.

K-M High School paraprofessional and professional mixed martial arts fighter Travis Wiuff will be on the card Saturday, April 12 for O-Town Throw Down at the Four Seasons Centre in Owatonna. Doors open at 5 p.m. and action begins at 6 p.m.

The outdoor track season is officially underway as the KoMets hosted Red Wing and Northfield Friday for the K-M Invitational Track Meet at KMTelecom Stadium.

Brandon Scott named Academic All-State

K-M senior Brandon Scott is one of 21 basketball players from Class 3A and 4A named to the 2013-14 All State Team by the Minnesota Basketball Coaches Association (MBCA). The only other southeast Minnesota player named was Zach Wessels of Austin.

Slow second half start costly; Fergus Falls sends K-M home 61-52

The KoMets hung in there the first half against the number two seed Fergus Falls Otters. They trailed by only two, 31-29, at halftime. At the start of the second half K-M scored one point over the next 5:47 on a Danika Hodgman free throw and never recovered from the double digit deficit.
