Girls Basketball...K-M comes into new season with a target on their backs!

The KoMet girls basketball team is not going to sneak up on anyone this season. They have all of the top players returning from a team that was 25-6 and advanced to the Class AAA state tournament for first time in school history (They qualified three other times in Class AA).

7-0 KoMet girls pick up pair of road wins

The KoMet girls basketball team picked up a couple of road wins Friday and Saturday night. Friday they traveled to Cannon Falls and overwhelmed the Bombers 76-19 and Saturday were in Austin where they pulled out an 87-66 win.

Balance has girls basketball team off to 5-0 start

In the first five games of the season the K-M girls have showed off a balanced scoring attack. In a 70-43 win over Albert Lea Saturday all five starters scored in double digits and in a 78-52 blow out over Lake City five different players scored at least six points.

KoMets second at First Annual K-M Wrestling Invitational

K-M placed a close second behind fourth ranked Shakopee (3A) and had five champions in the first annual K-M Invitational Wrestling Tournament Saturday. Shakopee won the event with 214 points followed by the KoMets with 209.5, Mason City 96, John Marshall 90, White Bear Lake 83, Winona 78.5 and Waseca 45.

Wildcats girls off to impressive 3-0 start

The Dodge County Wildcats girls are off to a 3-0 start and looking like they are for real and worthy of being ranked sixth in the state in Class AA. Tuesday they shut out Winona 7-0 and Saturday afternoon outlasted Bloomington Jefferson 5-2.

KoMet wrestlers flex muscle at Winona Invite, win tournament

The KoMet wrestling team dominated 11 other opponents and had six individual champions to win the Winona Invitational Saturday. K-M scored 257.5 points and Goodhue was a distant second with 161 points.

KoMet wrestling enters new era with youth movement

No more Sam Stoll means no automatic win at heavyweight. So it's time for the KoMets to move on, enter a new era. "We are entering a new era," commented coach Jamie Heidt who for the first time is not a K-M co-coach.

Father/son basketball relationship is tough love

Coaches say it is a little different coaching a son or daughter. For K-M boys basketball coach Kelly Raymond and his son Braxton, a 6'6" junior forward, this is true.
