KoMet wrestlers closing in on 7th straight unbeaten season

The K-M wrestlers won a pair of HVL matches over Stewartville and Pine Island Thursday night to move one step closer to a seventh consecutive undefeated HVL season.

KoMets continue to roll, host HVL championship Saturday

The K-M girls basketball team continues to roll after a pair of wins last week over non-conference opponent Waseca 49-34 and at Byron Friday night 76-41. K-M is now 22-2 overall and 8-0 against section competition.

Late run gives K-M girls double digit win over Lake City 74-61

K-M led Lake City on the road by six at the half and built a 10 point lead in the second only to see the Tigers tie the game up. A late run pushed the lead to double digits and enabled the KoMets to remain unbeaten in the HVL with a 74-61 win.

Four champions, three runners-up advance to state

K-M will send seven individuals to the state Class AA tournament this weekend. Section champions are Keaten Schorr (113), Brady Berge (152), Andy Bigelow (170) and in dramatic form Chase O'Connor with a four overtime win over top seed Triston Westerlund of Albert Lea 3-2. Advancing as runners-up are Patrick Kennedy (132), Aaron Berge (160) and Noah Ryan (182).

Last second shot by Cori Kennedy results in 56-55 HVL championship win

With nine seconds remaining in the HVL championship game at home against Kenyon-Wanamingo Saturday night, senior Cori Kennedy grabbed a deflection on an inbound play with nine seconds to go and hit the winning basket for a 56-55 K-M win.

HVL wrestling win steak 77 matches and counting!

Seven years. Seventy-seven matches in a row. That represents the KoMet wrestling team win streak. K-M disposed of Cannon Falls 51-14 and Hayfield 61-10 Thursday night to close out the HVL season with consecutive wins number 76 and 77.

Wildcats denied third straight trip to section final

For two years it was Lakeville North that prevented the Dodge County Wildcats girls hockey team from making their first state tournament appearance in school history. Saturday night top seeded Lakeville South broke open a close game in the third period for a 7-2 win to deny the fourth seeded Wildcats a third straight trip to the section final.
